poohpooh is my new love.
pooh is a female chowchow and i have had her a couple of years now

since spazzes untimely death.

spazz is in dog heaven now after being hit by a hit and run speeding suv while chasing a cat into the street.the hardest thing i have ever had to do in my life was to tell the vet to put him asleep.i wept every day for 2 months....................and then i found PoohPooh !

Spazz is a lover not a fighter !!!!

july 2007 spazz was attacked by 2 old pit bull mixes.

i thought he wasn't going to live after he was attacked.

i have never been so frightened in my life as i was the night

he was attacked.

Spazz and i go everywhere together.he is always with me,i am afraid

to leave him at home by himself , much like a parent fears leaving a young child

home alone.

a few weeks ago a started a new job for a lady that had 2 older dogs that i thought were lab mixes.she has a large back yard with trees and lot's of squirrels

an ideal place for Spazz to do what he enjoys most in life , squirrel watching.

Spazz is always welcomed by customers,hes so adorable they can't say no.

Spazz likes to play with other dogs,unfortunately he sometimes try's to play with dogs that don't want to play with him.

Spazz seemed to be getting along well with the 2 older dogs because they pretty much kept to themselves down in the basement where it was cool,and Spazz was preoccupied with the squirrels

s in the yard.

the lady warned me that her dogs had never been around other dogs.

she didn't tell me until later that her dogs had killed cats and raccoon's,and when she did , i did not take her seriously , nor did i know that the dogs were pits,and she never told me they were pits, her neighbors did.

the lady was in no hurry to get the work i was doing for her finished,and encouraged me to accept another job for a neighbor that lived behind her.

the neighbor was in a hurry to get his job done so i started work on his home.

he had a bigger yard and more trees and squirrels .

the house was empty and i was making repairs and renovations for the new tenants that were to move in a week or so later.

toward the end of the job the owner was there and needed to leave the gate open one night , so i thought it would be best to put Spazz at the lady's house for about 30 minutes where i was doing the other job.

she had asked me to come by and look at something earlier that day anyway,so i did and took Spazz with me . i put him in the back ,looked at what she wanted me to look at ,and went back to finish the other job for the man that lived behind her.

the lady was not home and it was starting to get dark outside.

i was in the mans kitchen writing up his bill when i heard Spazz yelping loudly,and i heard the other dogs growling,I WAS HORRIFIED,I RAN TO THE BACK SCREAMING AT THE DOGS TO LEAVE SPAZZ ALONE,I TRIED TO CLIMB OVER THE FENCE THAT SEPARATED PROPERTY'S ! IT WAS TOO TALL ! I RAN TO MY TRUCK AND DROVE AROUND TO THE HOUSE WHERE SPAZZ WAS AS FAST AS I COULD WITH NO REGARD FOR TRAFFIC LAWS,I SCREECHED TO HALT IN FRONT OF HER HOUSE AND RAN TO THE DOGS AS FAST AS I COULD,SPAZZ WAS STILL CRYING AND YELPING AND BEING VICIOUSLY ATTACKED.I PULLED HIM AWAY FROM THE DOGS ,NEVER ONCE DID I FEAR FOR MY OWN SAFETY,MY ONLY THOUGHTS WERE TO SAVE SPAZZ !

Spazz was breathing so hard and fast i thought he would never catch his breath.

i couldn't tell how bad he was hurt he did not seem to be bleeding badly,but he was in severe shock he did not respond to me he acted as if he didn't know me ,he was frightened of me and everything around him.

not realizing how bad his condition was,i put him in the truck and headed home.by the time i got him home i knew he was in severe shock and physically hurt as well.

it didn't take long for me to realize he needed immediate attention once we got home.i really thought he would drop dead at any moment.so i rushed him to an emergency pet clinic.

i was freaked out,i kept thinking i wouldn't be able to go on living if i lost him.

i love Spazz dearly.life without him is unimaginable to me. i know that may sound weird to people but that's the truth,and i don't really care too much what other people think,I LOVE MY DOG !!!!

Spazz is o.k. and $1,000 later is recovering well .the stitches come out soon.

the lady has not offered to help with the vet bills,but i am still going to finish the work i began for her regardless.i did tell her that if it were up to me i would have both her dogs put down,i said it out of anger and i now realize how hypocritical i was to say such an awful thing,what if she feels the same way about her dogs as i feel about Spazz?????????

HOW SPAZZ FOUND ME AND CAME TO BE:

ONE DAY I WAS IN MY DRIVEWAY AND I NOTICED A SMALL TAN FLUFFY DOG TROTTING DOWN THE STREET.I THOUGHT HE BELONGED TO ONE OF MY NIGHBORS,SO I WENT TO THE NIEGHBORS HOUSE AND NOTICED THAT ALL OF THEIR DOGS WERE ACCOUNTED FOR.

I TOOK THE TAN FLUFFY MALE PUP TO MY HOME AND ASKED MY LANLORD (A WONDERFUL LADY WITH A SOFT SPOT FOR ALL ANIMALS EXCEPT RATS AND POSSEMS) IF WE COULD KEEP HIM UNTIL WE LOCATED HIS OWNER,AND SHE AGREED.

SPAZZ AND I BECAME FOND OF EACH OTHER QUICKLY,AND I NOTICED THAT SPAZZ MIGHT OF BEEN MISTREATED BECAUSE HE WOULD COWER WHEN EVER YOU PUT YOUR HAND NEAR HIS HEAD AS IF SOMEONE HAD BEEN HITTING HIM IN THE HEAD.

HE ALSO HAD SOMETHING WRONG WITH ONE SIDE OF HIS NASEL CAVITY (NOSE).

NEVER THE LESS HE WAS AN ADORABLE DOG AND MY THOUGHTS WERE THAT SOMEONE MUST BE HEARTBROKEN OVER HIS LOSS.

THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS I LET SLIP AWAY AND JUST KIND OF BONDED WITH SPAZZ AND THEN HE AND I WENT TO THE LOCAL ANIMAL SHELTER.UPON OUR ARRIVEL SPAZZ HEARD ALL THE BARKING DOGS AND GOT REALLY EXCITED AND I SAID "CALM DOWN DOG DONT HAVE A SPAZZ" SPAZZ, YEA SPAZZ, THAT WOULD BE A GREAT NAME FOR YOU.

I LOOKED IN THE LOST BOOK AND FOUND NO MISSING CHOW CHOWS,I FILLED OUT THE FOUND BOOK AND THE ANIMAL SHELTER PEOPLE SAID IF NO ONE CLAIMS HIM OR CALLS YOU IN 30 DAYS COME BACK AND GET HIM LISCENCED AND HES YOURS.

I WAITED 60 DAYS AND DURING THAT TIME WITH THE FINANCIAL SUPPORT OF MY MOTHER SPENT AROUND ?700.00 ON SPAZZ FOR HEALTH CARE AND MEDICAL ISSUES.

WE GOT HIS LISCENCE,SPAZZ IS MY SON NOW !I LOVE HIM DEARLY.

spazz may 2007,he is still my love.and i still take him everywhere with me.

he is the dog with two bones but hes not running in circles,and if he drops dead so will I.

GOPHER GITTIN

SPAZZ Will try to stick his whole head down the gopher hole.Sometimes he gets lucky if i spray water down the other holes and drive the little buggers out towards him.Its alot of fun, but not the ideal way to maintain a well manicured lawn.
